Morning Colours

A shot from roaches beach. I really liked the colours, and wanted them to be the main focus, without people looking at the finer detail. Sometimes it is nothing more than the combination of colours that make the difference.

I’m considering printing this on canvas at about 800mm x 800mm for submission into a local art competition. The original picture can be seen in recent posts.

Please contact me if you would like to purchase this print. Printed and professionally stretched price is $995.00 (800mm x 800mm), with either white border or complete image wrap. For further details on printing, please check the portfolio age.

‘Boat Shed’, Kelvedon Beach

Although I have only been with my new employer for a relatively small period of time, I am enjoying myself, and the people that I work with are fantastic.

This Friday IMAS will be holding a quiz night to support the family of Ben Chuwen who recently passed away. In support of the evening I have donated this landscape to the silent auction.

The boat shed at Kelvedon Beach is a well known point of interest on the Tasmanian east coast, and should be very popular amongst the marine community.

Happy bidding 🙂

Fiber Optics, A Geeks Wallpaper

How hard is it to create stock photos? That’s the question I asked myself the other day when I was on a news website taking note of a fiber optic cable stock picture used in an article.

It can’t be that hard? so I purchased a 7 dollar lamp from eBay, and have taken a few basic shots. with my long term goal to combine them with pictures from a large IT server room as a backdrop.

In the mean time I think I will load a few of these onto flickr, they should make quite a nice computer desktop image.

Just for fun I decided to upload a picture showing a picture of my 5D taking a picture. It gives a really good idea of how the filters and 5D is processing the image.

I have no idea now the iPhone is claiming the exposure figures that it is as they simply don’t seem to add up when compared with the 5D. Then again maybe I had a 10 stop filter on.

Exhibition – Taste of Asia

Starting from this Sunday afternoon a selection of my work will be on display at the Taste of Asia in North Hobart.

The pictures focus on Tasmanian landscapes, mainly from the local Hobart area. They have all been printed at A1 on canvas, and will be available for purchase. For a preview follow this link through to my Flickr page:

Taste of Asia is located at 358 Elizabeth Street, North Hobart and they also do a very good curry.
